Three of my ongoing enterprises:

1850's - The phono autograph is developed by French Researchers. The device records sound waves on a rotating cylinder. It’s amazing how far we have come since 1850. I always had the bug to play music, for the beat is what captured me. I played the drums in middle school thru high school, but I needed more. I couldn't reach what I wanted from merely playing drums. With the beat in my blood I hit a underage teen hot spot for a job in Salem Oregon as the guy who put the records back in the sleeve for the busy DJ. I also got his water and played a song or two while he was on break.

I finally got tired of cleaning up after the DJ, and had learned enough to move on to a new location of my own. I bought records from John Clesack in the Lancaster Mall at a record store. John was the manager of the record store and would always help me with selections in the early days. He owned a company called Group 3 Entertainment a mobile DJ company. I always thought of a mobile DJ company as kind a crazy concept. I talk to John about my aspirations, but he thought I didn’t have enough experience to work for him. I explained I would train and do what it takes. He set aside two turntables in his recording room (the laundry room... yes I mean the laundry room, and right on top of the washer and dryer). He said when you can make me a clean tape and people like it I will give you a job. I think I lived in that room for months and months working until I was ready. 1984 rolled around and I was on the road as DJ Capt Leu working everywhere and any gig I could get.
I’ve come a long way since the laundry room of John's house and the days of being DJ Capt Leu. Personally working 335 dates a year, I pride myself on providing the best quality entertainment possible. Providing quality entertainment from nightclubs to weddings, private parties to corporate events, my clients are among the most satisfied anywhere. Since my early days I’ve learned a lot about what people like and what makes them happy. And part of that includes having unforgettable memories of their special events. I hope to see you at a special event someday soon.
